Design Charette: Waterfront Vision(March 25)
During previous public engagement, the Edmonds community highlighted the significance of the waterfront area and its vibrant character, emphasizing how integral it is to the city's identity. Key topics in community discussions included public access, sea level rise, protection of Marsh and other environmental concerns.
Edmonds Waterfront Issues Study was presented to the City Council, briefing the purpose, issues, key findings and recommendations. One of the key recommendations is that City shall craft an updated vision for the Waterfront as part of the 2024 Comprehensive Plan.
The Planning and Development Department will be holding a public meeting called a Design Charette on March 25th to develop goals and design concepts in order to shape a new waterfront vision as part of the Comprehensive Plan.
What is a “design charette”? This is an interactive meeting where community members will turn words into design concepts with the help of staff and City consultants.
The goal of this session is to hear from diverse perspectives to ensure that our approach reflects the evolving needs and aspirations of our city.
