Human Resources Department
Involves recruiting and selecting new employees; administering employee benefits, unemployment insurance, deferred compensation, training programs and the City's classification and compensation program; developing and implementing Human Resources policies and procedures; and directing labor relations and negotiation efforts.
Additional areas of responsibility that fall under Human Resources includes administration of the City's safety and workers' compensation programs; City liaison for the Edmonds Disability Board, Chief Examiner/Secretary for the Civil Service Commission; participating on the Citizen's Commission for the Compensation of Elected Officials and the MEBT Committee.
