Public Works and Utilities

"We Are Here to Serve You"

Public Works & Utilities serves a growing population of over 40,000 residents and businesses.

The Department is responsible for a wide range of infrastructure maintenance, operations, and civil engineering services to our citizens involving street transportation and traffic control, storm runoff and surface water management, drinking water distribution, sewage collection and conveyance, and wastewater treatment.

The Department also provides many critical internal services for the organization such as the maintenance of City buildings and facilities as well as the management of a diverse fleet of light and heavy equipment and vehicles.

These services are provided through the department's seven functional divisions operating out of the Public Works Operations & Maintenance Center, the regional Edmonds Wastewater Treatment Plant, and the second floor of City Hall.
