Multifamily Design Standards

Design standards are a key implementation tool to evaluate the design of a proposed development. These standards affect:

- How a Building Looks
- Design Components or Features (entrances, windows, driveways)
- How the Building is Viewed from the Street and other Properties

Currently, most multifamily buildings (apartments and townhouses)  don't have many specific standards on how the design of the building should look. This can make it difficult to know what will be required and what "fits" with the surrounding neighborhood.

Multifamily Design Standards will be discussed after implementation of State Legislation and the 2024 Comprehensive Plan.
