Update on Edmonds
Flower 1flower 2Beautifying the City for Nearly 100 Years!
The City of Edmonds Beautification Program began in 1922 by the Floretum Garden Club and was fully established by the Parks Department in the early 1970’s. The program has grown from a few small beds and a handful of hanging baskets to now boasting 186 individual flower beds and 138 flower baskets that decorate the core downtown. Each year residents adopt flower baskets and corner parks that are maintained by Parks Staff.  If you are interested in adopting one of these call now as there are only 22 baskets and 2 corner parks (both at 6th and Dayton) left to adopt. Adopted baskets and parks include signage identifying who donated them (you can adopt a basket or park in your name or in memory or honor of someone else). Those who adopt get the first option to renew their basket the following year.

Flower Program/City Beautification by the numbers:

• Supported by the Edmonds Floretum Garden Club for 97 years (they still assist with planting)

• 138 flower baskets maintained (and 186 individual flower beds)

Flower 3• 22,000 plants grown in our greenhouse each year (20-30% grown from seed)

Baskets are available to adopt for $100 per season (June through September) and corner parks for $250 per season (through early November).
