Update on Edmonds

Arts Commission Sen LiiasIn between the February snow storms, Christina Kourteva and Gillian Jones from Edmonds Center for the Arts and City of Edmonds Arts Commission Chair Tanya Sharp visited Senator Marko Liias during the annual Arts & Heritage Day in Olympia on Feb. 6. Sen. Liias was presented with a 2018 Edmonds Arts Festival poster to add to his collection of festival posters displayed in his Olympia office.

Arts and Heritage Day is an exciting event that brings together arts, humanities, heritage and cultural leaders from across Washington state. It’s a great opportunity for advocates to meet with their legislators to thank them for their support of the arts and heritage community, bring attention to statewide arts and heritage issues and local concerns, and share specific stories and highlights of real projects in our communities, schools, and venues statewide. The attendance of representatives and advocates from across the state gives legislators a better understanding of the importance of arts and heritage issues in our communities.
