trans planTransportation Comprehensive Plan Update

The Transportation Plan, part of the City’s Comprehensive Plan, is currently being updated and scheduled to be completed in July 2015. The plan will include both short-range and long-range strategies that will lead to the development of an integrated multimodal transportation system that facilitates the safe and efficient movement of people and goods, while addressing current and future transportation demand as well as land use. The plan will identify all existing conditions for the various modes of transportation, as well as proposed safety and mobility improvements. Those projects will consist of projected improvements through 2035 (20-year plan), including roadway improvements (intersection and corridor), transit improvements, and non-motorized improvements. The document will conform with all requirements for comprehensive planning listed in the Washington State Growth Management Act Chapter 36.70A.RCW and be consistent with PSRC Transportation 2040. The last update to the Transportation Plan was completed in 2009. The first Open House occurred on February 25, 2015 and the Goals & Policies section of the plan were presented to City Council on March 3, 2015.
