The Development Services permit counter and offices will be closed on
Monday, December 9, 2019 for staff training on a new permit system. This includes Building, Planning, and Engineering personnel, as well as all inspection services.

Walk-in, telephone, and inspection services will not be available on Monday, December 9, 2019.

However, because training will be ongoing during that week, it is advisable to call ahead to make sure someone will be available to help you when you are at the office.

2015 Comprehensive Plan

Introduction and Overview

Periodic updates of the Comprehensive Plan are required by Washington’s Growth Management Act and are also good practice. As we plan for the future, we must consider how we provide for growth while maintaining strong neighborhoods that provide a range of housing, offer access to multiple modes of transportation, support economic development, and achieve healthy communities in a clean environment. The existing Plan covers the period through 2025. The update will extend the planning horizon through 2035 and accomodate additional people and jobs and meet other community needs. We invite you to learn more and share ideas.

For more information, please feel free to contact city staff: email Edmonds Planning or call 425-771-0220. You can also get on the project notification list by letting us know (either by phone or email).

The adopted Comprehensive Plan documents can be found here. Background information on the 2015 plan update process can be found below.
